We play Glenealy in the semi – final of the Intermediate championship on Tuesday next 22nd Sept at 7.30pm in Eire Og, Greystones.  This is our first year to enter an intermediate team and the team has performed very well, winning all their games in the league section.  The Glenealy team will provide very strong opposition but our management team are confident of victory with all our players available.  Again all support would be greatly appreciated by the team.

Match Reports

U12 Hurling

Bray Emmets vs St Pats

On a cool and cloudy 14th of September evening Bray Emmets under 12 hurling team hosted St Pats Wicklow in their latest Wicklow league game.

After winning the toss and electing to play with the slight breeze the team tore into the game and quickly set the scoreboard moving scoring a couple of long range points and a goal that started with a battle won by the backs. St Pats, to their credit, never let Bray fully settle and between a number of good Bray scores garnered a couple of goals themselves. The half finished as it has started with Bray adding a couple of points to leave them leading 4-5 to 2-1.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first with Bray goaling early followed by a few Pats scores before the team pressed on in the final quarter. The final few minutes saw the team play their best hurling as they moved the ball through the lines to heap pressure on the Pats goal. The team eventually ran out winners by a margin of 7-9 to 5-2.

Team: John, Conor M, Jamie, Finn, Art, Nathan, Luan, Oscar H, Gavin, Cian, Evan, Tim, Michael, Adam, Simon, Fionn, Conor D, Eoin.

Bray Emmets vs Na Fianna

9-0 to 2-2

The U12 Camogie team played Na Fianna, Glasnevin, Saturday 19th in Páirc Emmet Bhré. This league encounter was a keenly contested affair from start to finish. Bray got out of the blocks early through quality strikes from Ellen O’Doherty and Áine Farrell, while midfielder Catherine McGarry and half-forward, Fionnuala Crowley played particularly well.

In the second-half, Pearl O’Connor and Róisín Benville were very solid in defence, supported by the energetic MaryAnne Aherne.  A great win, which the supportive parents also savoured. Míle buíochas le Eugene Canavan freisin a bhí ag obair go mór ar an líne.

Foireann: Áine Farrell (2-0), Aoife Canavan, Catherine McGarry, Ellen O’Doherty (4-0), Erica Brierton (1-0), Fionnuala Crowley (1-0), Kaleigh Broderick, Mary-Anne Aherne, Pearl O’Connor, Róisín Benville, Sarah Lambe (1-0), Sarah Staunton. Bainisteoir –  Brian Lambe.
